WHY WE CREATED THIS TRIP

The Maldives is a place that means a lot to us. We spent a year working here as scuba diving instructors and base leaders, diving almost every single day and we absolutely love it - warm water, good visibility, drift diving and big marine life! We even wrote an ebook about scuba diving in the Maldives.

And since so many of you ask us about diving in the Maldives and want to dive there too, we realized we didn’t just want to keep this experience to ourselves, we can actually share it with you and take you with us to have the same awesome dives together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need Advanced Open Water?

Yes, or equivalent certification and experience. This trip includes deeper dives and currents.

Can I join the trip on my own?

Absolutely. It doesn’t matter if you come alone, with your partner or with a friend. In terms of accommodation you’ll share a cabin with another guest unless you book a private cabin.

Can I have a cabin only for me?

Yes, this is possible. The trip price is based on two people sharing a cabin, so a private cabin requires paying the full cabin price.

Is this a guided trip?

Yes - you’ll be diving with professional guides and us throughout the trip.

How do I get to Kooddoo?

You’ll have to take a domestic flight from Malé to Kooddoo (GKK). The flight takes around 1 hour and costs approximately 220 USD (rate from April 28th).

Where will we dive?

We will dive in these atolls: South Male Atoll - Felidhu Atoll - Meemu Atoll – Thaa Atoll - Laamu Atoll - Huvadhoo Atoll. The exact dive sites will be chosen by the Cruise Director depending on weather and conditions.

Is March a good time to dive the Maldives?

Yes, January - April is generally the best time to dive in the Maldives. In March, the Maldives experiences hot and sunny tropical weather, with average temperatures ranging from 26° C to 31° C. It is considered the peak season, characterised by minimal rainfall, high humidity and warm sea temperatures of 29° - 30° C, making it ideal for scuba diving.

How is the payment plan?

To secure your spot on this trip you will have to pay a deposit of 30% within 7 days after receiving the confirmation. The other 70% have to be paid before the 12th of December 2026. For each installment a payment link will be sent to you.

What is the food like?

There is a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner with many different options and a mix of western and Maldivian food. Expect to find a choice of vegetables, pasta, curries, fish, meat and fresh fruits. There is plenty of food suitable for vegetarians.

Does it matter where I am from and how old I am?

It does not matter where you are from - everybody is welcome. As far as we know there are also no international travel restriction to the Maldives.

For insurance reasons you need to be 18 years of age or accompanied by a legal guardian. For dive insurance reasons, you need to be at least 15 years old, to be allowed to go down to 30 meters.

Will there be other guests on the liveaboard?

Yes. The boat accommodates up to 26 guests. We have reserved 10 spots for our group, plus us (Maike & Niels).

Is Fuvahmulah and tiger shark diving included in this trip?

No - this trip does not include Fuvahmulah or Addu Atoll, so the well-known tiger shark dives are not part of the itinerary.

While tiger shark sightings are possible during the trip, they are not guaranteed.

If there’s enough interest, we may organize an optional pre-trip to Fuvahmulah, just let us know in the request form (Field for questions).

What are the Visa / Passport entry requirements to travel to the Maldives?

To enter the Maldives you will need a passport with at least six month's validity, a complete travel itinerary including return journey confirmed tickets and a prepaid confirmed hotel booking at a registered hotel or liveaboard. On arrival you will be issued a free 30 day tourist visa. A Traveller Declaration must be filled in and submitted by all travelers travelling to and from Maldives, within 96 hours to the flight time. The form needs to be submitted electronically via IMUGA

How does the booking process work?

After submitting the form, we’ll review your details and get back to you with availability, pricing and next steps. Your spot is secured once the deposit is paid.

You’ll be taken to a short application form so we can make sure this trip is the right fit for you.
